Larnaca Airport to Larnaca by Bus (Route 425 and the Alternatives)
Published
Larnaca Airport sits about 6km from the seafront, and a city bus covers it in around 25 minutes. The route you want is 425, run by Cyprus Public Transport on the Motion fare system. It leaves the airport roughly every 20 minutes from before dawn until late evening, and it runs the same timetable seven days a week, Sunday included.
Timetables on this page load live from BusCyprus, so they follow the operator's current schedule rather than a snapshot from the day this guide was written.
Quick answer
- Going to the seafront, the old town, Agios Lazaros or almost any hotel? Take 425 and get off at Foinikoudes. About 25 minutes.
- Going to Larnaca Station to catch an intercity coach? 425 does not stop there. You want 430, 432 or 429, which reach the station in around 22 minutes but run only a handful of times a day.
- Arriving in the middle of the night on a Friday or Saturday? Route 446 runs then, and only then.
- No reservation, no advance ticket. Pay the driver or tap a Motion card.
Where to catch the bus
All of these routes use the same stop, Larnaka Airport, on the forecourt outside the terminal. The timetables below are for that stop.
Two other bus stops share the same forecourt, both belonging to different operators running coaches to other towns. They are separate stops with separate timetables, so if you are heading into Larnaca itself, ignore them and look for the city bus stop.
Route 425, the one you almost certainly want
425 is the only frequent route at the airport. It runs from 03:30 to 20:55, 53 departures a day, and the timetable does not change at the weekend. It goes airport to Makenzy to Foinikoudes, then continues north through Oroklini towards Dekeleia.
Measured against the operator's own trip data, it reaches Makenzy in about 10 minutes and Foinikoudes in about 24. Foinikoudes is the palm-lined promenade, and from there the old town, the castle and Agios Lazaros are all a short walk.
You will see 425 described elsewhere as taking 50 minutes, and you will see a route 417 recommended as the fast option. Neither matches the timetable: 417 does not serve Larnaca Airport at all.

Getting to Larnaca Station instead
Larnaca Station is the hub for intercity coaches to Nicosia, Limassol and Ayia Napa. 425 does not call there, which catches people out. Four routes do: 430, 432, 429 and 407. 430 covers the airport to station leg in about 22 minutes.
The catch is frequency. On a weekday you get around 13 departures each on 430 and 432 and 8 on 429. At the weekend all three drop to about 7 a day, with gaps of two to three hours. 407 is a long rural route with 5 trips a day and is not worth waiting for.
If the next one is far off, take 425 to Foinikoudes and walk. The station is only about 300m from the Foinikoudes stop, four or five minutes on the flat.

Which route should I take?
- Staying anywhere in Larnaca city, near the beach or the old town: 425. It is faster, far more frequent, and the same every day of the week.
- Connecting straight onto an intercity coach: 430 or 432 if one is due within half an hour, otherwise 425 and a short walk from Foinikoudes.
- Heading to Kiti, Pervolia, Meneou or Tersefanou: those villages are the reason 429, 430 and 432 exist, so check their timetables above rather than going into town first.
Night buses
There is one night service, 446, and it runs on Friday and Saturday nights only. From the airport it leaves at 23:32 and 02:29, heading for Larnaca Station. In the other direction it passes the airport at 22:22 and 01:18.
Every other night of the week there is nothing between the last 425 at 20:55 and the first at 03:30. For a flight landing at, say, 01:00 on a Tuesday, plan on a taxi.

Fares and how to pay
Cyprus Public Transport (Nicosia and Larnaca) urban singles cost €2.40 cash or €1.80 on a Motion card by day, and €4.20 cash or €2.60 on a Motion card at night. Motion smart card or cash to the driver.
This is the Motion tariff used across the Nicosia and Larnaca network. It is a different system from the one covering Paphos, so fares quoted for OSYPA routes or in guides to the Paphos airport buses do not apply here. Cash fares on this network are due to change in early August 2026, so treat any printed amount as provisional and check the fare panel above, which follows our current data.

Live arrivals
Getting back to the airport
425 runs inbound too, from Dekeleia through Foinikoudes to the airport, with 41 trips a day plus a dozen short workings that start at Larnaca Station. The stop you want on the way back is on the opposite side of Grigori Afxentiou Avenue from where you got off.
Because the last outbound 425 leaves the airport at 20:55, and the inbound timetable thins out in the evening as well, check the timetable below before relying on the bus for a late departure. For anything after about 21:00, have a taxi in mind as a backup.
Leaving very early instead? 425 starts running well before dawn, ahead of the first morning flights.
