Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa by Bus (Direct Shuttle or Public Bus)

Ayia Napa sits on the east coast, about 50km from Larnaca Airport. You have two sensible bus options: a direct airport shuttle that runs door-to-door in under an hour, or a two-ticket public bus that costs far less but takes around 90 minutes with a connection in Larnaca city.

• Want the fastest ride with one ticket? Take the Kapnos Airport Shuttle from the coach stop on the airport forecourt. About 55 minutes to Ayia Napa.
• Want the cheapest ride and do not mind a change? Take LPT route 425 into Larnaca, then Intercity coach 43 to the resort. About 90 minutes and two fares.
• Landing late in the evening? The last city bus 425 leaves the airport at 20:55 and the last intercity coach eastbound is earlier still. A late Kapnos departure or a taxi is the realistic fallback.

Where to catch each service

The airport forecourt has three separate bus stops. They are a few metres apart but they belong to different operators, so the stop name on your ticket matters.

• Kapnos Airport Shuttle: stop Larnaca Airport (LCA). This is the coach bay for shuttles to Ayia Napa, Nicosia and Paphos. Not the city bus stop.
• LPT city buses (route 425 and others): stop Larnaka Airport. This is the Motion city bus stop used in our Larnaca Airport to the city guide.

Option 1: Kapnos shuttle (direct)

Kapnos runs a dedicated Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa / Protaras corridor. The coach leaves from its own bay, does not stop in Larnaca city centre, and reaches the resort in about 55 minutes according to the published timetable and our trip planner.

On a typical summer day there are roughly hourly departures through the day, sometimes paired a few minutes apart. The table below shows the next scheduled runs from the airport stop. These are timetable times, not live bus positions. Kapnos has not verified this display inside BusCyprus.

The shuttle serves Agia Napa Square and stops along Nissi Avenue for hotels on the seafront. Buy from the driver or through the operator's own booking channels. This is a private airport shuttle, not part of the Motion card network, and it costs more than the public buses below.

Option 2: Public bus via Larnaca (425 + Intercity 43)

This is the budget route. You ride the same 425 airport bus that serves Larnaca city, get off at Tassou Papadopoulou, and change straight onto Intercity coach 43 to Ayia Napa.

Leg 1: Airport to Tassou Papadopoulou on route 425

Route 425 is the frequent airport bus. It runs every 20 minutes or so from before dawn until 20:55, seven days a week. From the airport it reaches Tassou Papadopoulou in about 27 minutes (measured from the operator's own trip data, a few minutes longer than the seafront stop because the bus works through town first).

Leg 2: Intercity coach 43 to Ayia Napa

At Tassou Papadopoulou the intercity coach uses the same street stop as the city bus. Look for coach 43 with headsign AG.NAPA-PARALIMNI. It runs 15 times a day on Sundays and reaches Agia Napa Monastery square in about 56 minutes.

You need a separate intercity ticket on top of the LPT fare. Intercity Buses Ltd sets its own prices (typically a few euros per leg, more than the city bus ticket but still far below the Kapnos shuttle).

Which option should I pick?

• Kapnos shuttle: about 55 minutes direct, one private ticket, roughly hourly. Best when you want the simplest ride or you are travelling with luggage.
• 425 + Intercity 43: about 90 minutes with a change, two cheaper tickets, and much more frequent city buses on the first leg. Best when you are saving money and travelling in the daytime.

Fares and how to pay

The LPT leg uses the Nicosia/Larnaca Motion tariff:

Pay the 425 driver in cash or with a Motion card. Buy the Intercity 43 ticket from the coach driver separately. The Kapnos shuttle is outside this system entirely.

Cash fares on the LPT network are due to change in early August 2026, so treat any printed amount as provisional and check the fare panel above, which follows our current data.

Night and late arrivals

Route 425 is the only frequent LPT service at the airport and its last departure is 20:55. Intercity 43 eastbound from Tassou Papadopoulou finishes around 18:30, so the public-bus combo is really a daytime option.

Kapnos keeps running later. The corridor timetable includes an 23:30 departure from the airport and a return from Ayia Napa in the evening. For a flight landing after the city buses stop, check the Kapnos table above first, then have a taxi quote ready.

Getting back to the airport

For the Kapnos return, board at Agia Napa Square on the shuttle timetable. The published runs continue to Larnaca Airport.

For the public bus return, take Intercity 43 towards LARNACA from Ag. Napa Monastery square (the agency-5 stop on the square, not the city bus stop on the other side of the road). Get off at Ammochostou Ave in Larnaca and change to 425 for the airport.
