Ayia Napa to Paralimni by Bus (Intercity 43 or Route 501)

Published

Ayia Napa and Paralimni sit about ten kilometres apart, and the buses that run between them are a short, easy hop. There are two ways to ride it.

Intercity route 43 is the coach that also runs the Larnaca-Ayia Napa corridor. It is your quickest resort-to-resort link. OSEA route 501 is the local loop that serves the wider Ayia Napa and Paralimni areas on the bus district's flat urban single.

This page is resort to resort. For Larnaca city to Ayia Napa, use the Larnaca to Ayia Napa guide. Flying in? Start from Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa.

Quick answer

  • Want the quickest ride? Take Intercity 43 from Ag. Napa Monastery - Square. Headsign AG.NAPA-PARALIMNI. About a quarter of an hour into Paralimni.
  • On the OSEA local loop? Route 501 also links the two resorts in about the same time for the flat €2 urban single. It boards across Ayia Napa and continues around through the wider district.
  • Where do you get off? Intercity 43 stops at Paralimni Municipality; route 501 continues to Paralimni Square. Both put you within a short walk of the town centre.
  • Coming from Larnaca city? Intercity 43 is the same coach. See Larnaca to Ayia Napa.

Option 1: Intercity 43 (recommended)

Intercity 43 runs between Larnaca, Ayia Napa and Paralimni. For this short hop you board at Ag. Napa Monastery - Square, or along Nissi Avenue a few stops later.

Look for short name 43 and headsign AG.NAPA-PARALIMNI. The coach reaches Paralimni Municipality in roughly a quarter of an hour, and it runs around fifteen times a day in this direction.

Option 2: OSEA route 501 loop

OSEA 501 is the slower, humbler alternative that behaves like a district loop rather than a point-to-point coach. Board it across Ayia Napa, including at Ag. Napa Police Station. It works through the roads toward Paralimni, reaches Paralimni Square Bus Station, then continues around the wider district toward the hospital and the Deryneia Green Line.

Journey time from Ayia Napa to Paralimni is roughly a quarter of an hour, and the loop runs about every 30 to 60 minutes through the day. It uses the flat OSEA urban single, so it is the cheaper option if you are already paying a local fare.

Coming back on 501

Board again at Paralimni Square Bus Station. The loop continues around through the district and comes back into Ayia Napa. Use the live table for today rather than memorising a clock pattern, because evening runs thin out.

Fares and how to pay

Intercity 43 uses the Ayia Napa-Paralimni corridor ticket:

Intercity Buses (Ayia Napa-Paralimni): €5.00 one way, or €9.00 return on this corridor. One-way paper ticket from the driver, or Motion e-wallet where accepted on this corridor. Return and period products at operator sales points.

OSEA 501 uses the Famagusta-district urban single:

A single ticket is €2.00 before 21:00 and €3.00 after 21:00, paid to the driver in cash. This is the flat OSEA (Famagusta district) urban fare. Cash to the driver.

Cash is accepted on both. For the wider island picture (Motion in Nicosia and Larnaca, airport shuttles, all-cities passes), see Cyprus bus fares and the Motion card.
