Larnaca Airport to Paphos by Bus (Kapnos, LAE or via Limassol)

Published

Paphos sits on the west coast, well over an hour from Larnaca Airport by road. You have three sensible bus options: a direct Kapnos shuttle to Paphos Airport, a Limassol Airport Express ride that changes in Limassol (with an optional airport-to-airport ticket), or a cheaper multi-leg public route that finishes in Paphos town at Karavella.

Kapnos and the LAE Paphos coach both end at the airport, not the harbour. If your hotel is in Kato Paphos or the old town, budget an onward OSYPA bus after you land at PFO.

Timetables on this page load live from BusCyprus. They follow the operator's current schedule, not a snapshot from the day this guide was written.

Quick answer

  • Want one ticket straight to Paphos Airport? Take the Kapnos Airport Shuttle from the coach bay on the Larnaca Airport forecourt. About two hours door to door on the published trip. Children travel free on this corridor. Then use 612 or 613 into town if you need them.
  • Happy to change in Limassol for the airport? Ride Limassol Airport Express (LEL) to Agios Georgios Havouza, then LEP onward to Paphos Airport. Ask about the operator's airport-to-airport ticket if you are only connecting the two airports.
  • Heading into Paphos town on a tighter budget? Take LEL (or the cheaper 425 + Intercity 45 combo into Limassol), then Intercity coach 56 to Karavella. Expect roughly three hours with the connection.
  • Landing late? Kapnos still has overnight and early-morning runs on this corridor, but they are sparse. City buses and Intercity 56 are mostly a daytime story. Check the tables below for tonight.

Where to catch each service

The Larnaca Airport forecourt has separate bays for separate operators. They are a few metres apart, so the stop name on your ticket matters.

  • Kapnos Airport Shuttle: stop Larnaca Airport (LCA). Same coach area used for Nicosia and Ayia Napa shuttles in our other airport guides.
  • Limassol Airport Express (LEL): stop Larnaca Airport (agency 91). The dedicated LAE bay, not the city bus stop.
  • LPT city buses (route 425 and others): stop Larnaka Airport. Covered in the Larnaca Airport to the city guide.

Option 1: Kapnos shuttle (direct to Paphos Airport)

Kapnos runs a dedicated Larnaca Airport to Paphos Airport corridor. The coach leaves from its own bay, skips both city centres, and takes about two hours according to the trip planner using the operator's published times.

There are only a handful of departures a day in each direction. If the table shows more than one Kapnos corridor, use the row Larnaca Airport (LCA) → Paphos Airport (PFO). These are timetable times, not live bus positions. Kapnos has not verified this display inside BusCyprus.

Buy at the Kapnos desk in arrivals, from the driver, or through the operator's booking channels. This is a private airport shuttle, not part of the Motion card network. Current amounts sit in the fare panel under Fares below.

Plan the Kapnos airport to airport trip to see the next scheduled departure and total journey time.

From Paphos Airport into town

Kapnos drops you on the Paphos Airport forecourt. For Kato Paphos take 612; for Karavella and the old town take 613. Both use the OSYPA urban fare and are covered in detail in the Paphos Airport to the city guide.

Option 2: Via Limassol on Limassol Airport Express

Limassol Airport Express does not publish a single through coach from Larnaca Airport to Paphos Airport in the live feed. You ride LEL to Agios Georgios Havouza in Limassol, then change onto LEP for Paphos Airport.

LEL runs many times a day between Larnaca Airport and Limassol. LEP on toward Paphos Airport is thinner. Check both tables before you commit to this path.

Plan the LAE change in Limassol if you want the planner to stitch LEL and LEP for your arrival time.

Airport-to-airport ticket

If you are only moving between the two airports, LAE sells a through airport-to-airport ticket on its published Larnaca timetable. You still change at Havouza; you just pay once for that product instead of two separate corridor tickets. Ask at the LAE desk or the driver. Amounts are in the fare panel.

Into Paphos town instead of the airport

After LEL, you can skip LEP and take Intercity coach 56 from the Limassol side toward Karavella. That is the usual public path into Paphos town when OTP builds Larnaca Airport to the harbour area.

Option 3: Cheaper public path (425 + Intercity 45 + 56)

Same idea as option 2, but you replace LEL with the 425 + Intercity 45 combo into Limassol. That is the budget route documented in the Larnaca Airport to Limassol guide. From Limassol continue on Intercity 56 as above.

This path needs three tickets (LPT, Intercity 45, Intercity 56) and more waiting time. It is the cheapest daytime option when the shuttles feel too expensive.

Which option should I pick?

  • Kapnos: about two hours direct to Paphos Airport, one private ticket, children free, few daily runs. Best when you want the simplest airport transfer or you are travelling with kids.
  • LEL + LEP (or the airport-to-airport ticket): one change in Limassol, finishes at Paphos Airport, more LAE departures on the Larnaca leg. Best when Kapnos does not line up with your flight.
  • LEL or 425+45, then Intercity 56: finishes in Paphos town, cheaper overall if you skip the private shuttles, longer door to door.

Fares and how to pay

Kapnos on the Larnaca–Paphos corridor:

Kapnos Airport Shuttle (Larnaca–Paphos) tickets cost €20.00 one way. Children (up to 12 on Paphos airport services) travel free. Buy at the Kapnos desk, from the driver, or through the operator booking channels.

Limassol Airport Express corridor singles (LEL or LEP on their own):

Limassol Airport Express tickets cost €10.00 for adults and €5.00 for children (3–12 per operator timetable). Cash to the driver or via the operator booking channels.

LAE airport-to-airport through ticket (Larnaca Airport ↔ Paphos Airport via Havouza):

Limassol Airport Express (airport to airport) tickets cost €15.00 for adults and €15.00 for children (per person on the airport-to-airport ticket). Ask the LAE desk or driver for the Larnaca Airport to Paphos Airport through ticket; change at Havouza.

LPT route 425 uses the Nicosia/Larnaca Motion tariff:

Cyprus Public Transport (Nicosia and Larnaca) urban singles cost €2.70 cash or €2.00 on a Motion card by day, and €4.70 cash or €3.50 on a Motion card at night. Motion smart card or cash to the driver.

OSYPA 612 / 613 into Paphos town:

A single ticket is €2.00 before 21:00 and €3.00 after 21:00, paid to the driver in cash. This is the flat OSYPA (Paphos) urban fare. Cash to the driver. Same price when loaded on a Motion card e-wallet.

Intercity coaches 45 and 56 sell their own tickets on board. Expect a few euros per leg, separate from Motion and from the private shuttles. Motion cards are not accepted on Kapnos or LAE.

Night and late arrivals

Kapnos is the only option that regularly covers awkward overnight gaps on this corridor, but departures are still sparse. Always read the Kapnos table above for the next run after your flight.

LEL keeps later hours than the city buses. Intercity 56 and the 425 + 45 combo are really daytime and early-evening tools. If you land after the public services stop, check Kapnos first, then have a taxi quote ready.
