Intercity Buses in Cyprus: Every Route

Cyprus has one city-to-city coach operator: Intercity Buses. A single ticket seats you between the main towns, and a handful of route numbers cover the whole island.

This page is the map of that network. Each corridor has its own guide further down with live departures. Here you get the shape of it: which town pairs are linked, how the airport shuttles fit in, and how to buy a ticket that works on the corridor you actually want.

A few things are constant across the network:

• Coaches run daily. Sunday is thinner than a weekday, but no corridor disappears over the weekend.
• You pay the driver on board. Cards are accepted on more lines than they used to be, but cash always works.
• Intercity tickets are separate from the local Motion single you use for a Nicosia or Larnaca city bus. A cross-operator journey takes two tickets.

Why "intercity" is not the same as "airport shuttle"

The coaches that meet flights at Paphos and Larnaca airports are a different thing from Intercity Buses, and a different ticket does each job. Kapnos and Limassol Airport Express run the airport legs; who runs them and what they cost is covered in the airport guides below.

The trunk routes

A few corridors run often enough to treat almost like a city bus: show up, and a coach turns up soon.

• Nicosia to Larnaca: route 42.
• Nicosia to Limassol: route 25.
• Limassol to Paphos: route 56.

The slower corridors

These get you there, but you plan around a timetable rather than just turning up. Check the live tables before you set out.

• Nicosia to Paphos (Intercity route 26): about a dozen departures a day.

• Larnaca to Limassol: a handful a day, always worth checking ahead.
• Nicosia and Larnaca to Ayia Napa / Paralimni: regular through the day, with more seats in summer.

The resort corner

Ayia Napa, Paralimni and Protaras sit in a web of short hopper routes. Intercity Buses links this corner to Larnaca, but the local network within it is run by OSEA, a separate operator on separate fares.

Airport shuttles

Intercity Buses does not meet flights. The two airport shuttle operators do, and each has its own guide:

• Larnaca Airport to Nicosia: Kapnos, or 425 + Intercity 42.
• Larnaca Airport to Limassol: Limassol Airport Express, or 425 + Intercity 45.

Tickets and how to pay

Fares are corridor-based: you pay for the stretch you ride, not by the half-hour.

• Single: one-way, from the driver when you board.
• Return: same corridor, cheaper than two singles.
• Passes: Motion network passes cover multi-district travel where the operator accepts them, but a plain cash single is always fine.
