Larnaca Airport to Limassol by Bus (Direct Shuttle or Public Bus)

Published

Limassol sits on the south coast, about 70km from Larnaca Airport. You have two sensible bus options: a direct airport shuttle that runs in about an hour, or a two-ticket public bus that costs far less but takes around 100 minutes with a connection in Larnaca city.

Timetables on this page load live from BusCyprus. They follow the operator's current schedule, not a snapshot from the day this guide was written.

Quick answer

  • Want the fastest ride with one ticket? Take the Limassol Airport Express (LEL) from the dedicated shuttle stop on the airport forecourt. About 60 minutes to Limassol.
  • Want the cheapest ride and do not mind a change? Take LPT route 425 into Larnaca, then Intercity coach 45 to Limassol. About 100 minutes and two fares.
  • Landing late in the evening? City bus 425 stops in the early evening and Intercity 45 finishes even earlier. The LAE shuttle runs later. Check the tables below for tonight's last runs.

Where to catch each service

The airport forecourt has three separate bus stops. They are a few metres apart but they belong to different operators, so the stop name on your ticket matters.

  • Limassol Airport Express (LEL): stop Larnaca Airport (agency 91). This is the dedicated shuttle bay for Limassol services. Not the city bus stop.
  • LPT city buses (route 425 and others): stop Larnaka Airport. This is the Motion city bus stop used in our Larnaca Airport to the city guide.

Option 1: Limassol Airport Express (direct)

Limassol Airport Express runs a dedicated Larnaca Airport to Limassol corridor. The coach leaves from its own bay, does not stop in Larnaca city centre, and reaches Limassol in about 60 minutes according to the published timetable.

On a typical day there are roughly 15 departures through the day. The table below shows the next scheduled runs from the airport stop. These are timetable times, not live bus positions.

The shuttle serves Agios Georgios Havouza station and the tourist area in Limassol. Buy from the driver or through the operator's own booking channels. This is a private airport shuttle, not part of the Motion card network, and it costs more than the public buses below.

Option 2: Public bus via Larnaca (425 + Intercity 45)

This is the budget route. You ride the same 425 airport bus that serves Larnaca city, get off at Archbishop Makarios III Avenue, and change onto Intercity coach 45 to Limassol.

Leg 1: Airport to the intercity stop on route 425

Route 425 is the frequent airport bus. It runs every 20 minutes or so from before dawn until early evening, seven days a week. From the airport it reaches the intercity stop in about 25 minutes.

Leg 2: Intercity coach 45 to Limassol

At Archbishop Makarios III Avenue the intercity coach uses the same street stop as the city bus. Look for coach 45 with headsign LIMASSOL. It runs dozens of times a day on weekdays and less frequently on weekends, reaching Limassol in about 75 minutes.

You need a separate intercity ticket on top of the LPT fare. Intercity Buses Ltd sets its own prices (typically a few euros per leg, more than the city bus ticket but still far below the LAE shuttle).

Plan the two-leg public bus trip and BusCyprus will stitch the connection together.

Which option should I pick?

  • LAE shuttle: about 60 minutes direct, one private ticket, roughly 15 departures a day. Best when you want the simplest ride or you are travelling with luggage.
  • 425 + Intercity 45: about 100 minutes with a change, two cheaper tickets, and much more frequent city buses on the first leg. Best when you are saving money and travelling in the daytime.

Fares and how to pay

The LPT leg uses the Nicosia/Larnaca Motion tariff:

Cyprus Public Transport (Nicosia and Larnaca) urban singles cost €2.70 cash or €2.00 on a Motion card by day, and €4.70 cash or €3.50 on a Motion card at night. Motion smart card or cash to the driver.

Pay the 425 driver in cash or with a Motion card. Buy the Intercity 45 ticket from the coach driver separately.

The LAE shuttle sits outside the Motion tariff:

Limassol Airport Express tickets cost €10.00 for adults and €5.00 for children (3–12 per operator timetable). Cash to the driver or via the operator booking channels.

Motion cards are not accepted on LAE.

Night and late arrivals

Route 425 is the only frequent LPT service at the airport, and it stops in the early evening. Intercity 45 westbound from the intercity stop finishes by evening, so the public-bus combo is really a daytime option.

LAE keeps running later than the city buses. For a flight landing after the public services stop, check the LAE table above first, then have a taxi quote ready.

Getting back to the airport

For the LAE return, board at Agios Georgios Havouza station on the shuttle timetable. The published runs continue to Larnaca Airport.

For the public bus return, take Intercity 45 towards LARNACA from Limassol and get off at the intercity stop in Larnaca, then change to 425 for the airport.
