Larnaca to Ayia Napa by Bus (Intercity 43 or OSEA 711)

Published

Larnaca city and Ayia Napa are linked by two public coaches. You do not need the airport shuttle for this hop.

Intercity route 43 is the faster, denser option from Makariou Avenue. OSEA route 711 boards on the Foinikoudes seafront and costs the OSEA urban single, but it takes longer and runs less often.

This page is city to resort. Flying into Larnaca Airport instead? Use the Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa guide (Kapnos, or 425 plus Intercity 43).

Quick answer

  • Want the quicker ride? Take Intercity 43 from Archiep. Makariou C´ Ave. - Filiou Tsigaridi. Headsign AG.NAPA-PARALIMNI. About 55 minutes to the resort strip.
  • Already on Foinikoudes? OSEA 711 stops on the promenade and continues east through Ayia Napa toward Paralimni / New Famagusta. Slower and fewer departures, cheaper OSEA ticket.
  • Where do you get off? Along Nissi Avenue or at Agia Napa Monastery square, depending on your hotel. Both coaches serve that strip.
  • Coming from the airport? Do not start here. See Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa.

Option 1: Intercity 43 (recommended)

Intercity 43 starts in central Larnaca on Makariou / Filiou Tsigaridi. It also calls at Tassou Papadopoulou a few minutes later. It does not stop at Foinikoudes.

Look for short name 43 and headsign AG.NAPA-PARALIMNI. The coach reaches the Ayia Napa strip in about 55 minutes on a typical daytime run, with roughly a mid-teens number of departures a day in each direction.

Option 2: OSEA 711 from Foinikoudes

OSEA 711 is the seafront option. Board at Grigori Afxentiou Ave. - Foinikoudes. The bus works through Larnaca, then the east coast, and continues past Ayia Napa toward Paralimni and New Famagusta Central Bus Station.

Alight on the Nissi / Monastery strip when you reach Ayia Napa. Do not stay on to the New Famagusta terminus unless that is your plan.

Journey time from Foinikoudes to the monastery area is roughly an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half, and there are fewer daily runs than on Intercity 43. Use the live table rather than memorising a clock pattern.

Fares and how to pay

Intercity 43 uses the Larnaca-Ayia Napa corridor ticket:

Intercity Buses (Larnaca-Ayia Napa): €5.00 one way, or €9.00 return on this corridor. One-way paper ticket from the driver, or Motion e-wallet where accepted on this corridor. Return and period products at operator sales points.

OSEA 711 uses the Famagusta-district urban single:

A single ticket is €2.00 before 21:00 and €3.00 after 21:00, paid to the driver in cash. This is the flat OSEA (Famagusta district) urban fare. Cash to the driver.
