Limassol to Ayia Napa by Bus (Intercity 35)

Limassol and Ayia Napa are linked by a single public coach: Intercity route 35. You board at the waterfront New Port and ride the long south-coast line to the Ayia Napa resort, with no change of bus. The same coach carries on to Paralimni, which is why this page covers that leg too.

This is a long, low-frequency corridor. Only a couple of coaches run each way each day, so the timing is the thing to check first. Do not build a same-day return around it without reading the return table.

This one guide covers both directions. The timetable is the same line either way, so there is nothing separate to read for the trip back.

• From Limassol? Board at New Port Bus Station, the intercity terminal at the waterfront. Look for Intercity 35 toward Ayia Napa and Paralimni.
• Where do you get off in Ayia Napa? At Ag. Napa Monastery Square, the town centre stop. The coach passes the Nissi Bay / Nisi Avenue beach strip first if you are headed straight for the sand.
• How often? Rarely. About two coaches a day in each direction, and the schedule varies between a weekday and a Sunday. Check the live tables rather than assuming a pattern.
• Is there a faster way? Often yes, with a change at Larnaca (route 35 to Larnaca, then Intercity 43 to Ayia Napa). The direct coach is the one-seat option; the two-leg route via Larnaca can suit a nicer departure time. Both are covered below.
• Coming back the same day? Read the return table before you arrange the day. With so few coaches, a missed return is an expensive taxi back.

Where to catch it in Limassol

The intercity terminal in Limassol is New Port Bus Station, at the passenger building on the waterfront. Coaches toward the east coast leave from here under short name 35.

Pay the driver when you board. This ticket is separate from any Limassol city bus EMEL single you may already have used to reach the port.

The line runs inland along the Larnaca road before turning for the coast, so the ride is noticeably longer than the driving time suggests. Carry water and check the headsign; the live table above lists what is running today.

Where you arrive in Ayia Napa

The town stop is Ag. Napa Monastery Square, in the middle of Ayia Napa and a short walk from the harbour and the main strip. That is the stop to aim for unless you are going straight to the beach.

On the way in, the coach runs the Nissi Bay and Nisi Avenue stops first. If your hotel is out that way, get off before the square rather than doubling back.

Ayia Napa is not the end of the line. The coach continues to Paralimni and the Famagusta district bus station, so do not wait for a terminus announcement to tell you when to get off.

Journey time is roughly two hours end to end. Use the live tables and the trip planner rather than a single printed minute count, because the long route and sparse schedule make the day's variation matter more than usual.

Coming back to Limassol

Same route number, opposite direction. Board again at Ag. Napa Monastery Square, on the side of the square that faces west, and ride to New Port.

This is the table to read before you commit to a day trip. With only a couple of coaches a day, a same-day return lives or dies on the last departure time. Sunday service is thinner and the return availability varies, so check it, not the outbound.

The faster two-leg option via Larnaca

If the direct coach's times do not fit, a change at Larnaca is often quicker: ride route 35 to Larnaca, then connect onto Intercity 43 for the final leg to Ayia Napa. This gives extra departure options through the day.

The through trip costs the sum of the two corridor fares and takes no longer, in practice, than the direct coach when the connections line up. The direct route 35 remains the one-seat option on this page.

Paralimni on the same coach

Route 35 keeps going past Ayia Napa to Paralimni, and the return trips start there. If you are travelling Paralimni to Limassol, this is your coach and this is your timetable.

Fares and how to pay

The operator sells this as one corridor, Limassol to Ayia Napa and Paralimni, at a single price. Riding on past Ayia Napa does not cost more. A personalised Motion card halves the fare, but the card has to be bought and topped up at a sales point before you travel; the driver takes cash only.
