Nicosia to Paphos by Bus (Intercity 26)

Published

Nicosia and Paphos are linked by a single public coach: Intercity route 26. You board in the capital centre and ride the island's longest city-to-city line to Karavella in Paphos town. No change of bus.

This is the city-to-city corridor. It is not a Paphos Airport shuttle and it does not start at Larnaca Airport. Those trips have their own guides linked below.

Timetables on this page load live from BusCyprus. They follow the current feed, not a snapshot from the day this article was written.

Quick answer

  • From Nicosia centre? Board at Dionysios Solomos Square. Look for Intercity 26 toward Paphos / Karavella.
  • Where do you get off in Paphos? At Karavella Bus Station, the coach terminus. Through stops exist on the way in, but the full run ends at Karavella.
  • How often? A handful of coaches a day on weekdays, fewer on Sundays, so the timing is the thing to check. Use the live tables rather than memorising a clock pattern.
  • Going to Paphos Airport? This coach ends in town. For the airport, change at Karavella onto OSYPA city buses, or see Paphos Airport to the city.

Where to catch it in Nicosia

The Intercity city terminus is Dionysios Solomos Square: walking distance to Ledra Street and the old town. Coaches toward Paphos leave from here under short name 26.

Pay the driver when you board. This ticket is separate from any Nicosia city bus Motion single you may already have used to reach the square.

Some trips diverge inside Paphos (for example via Alampra or a northern loop). Board by short name 26 and check the headsign; the live table below lists what is running today.

Where you arrive in Paphos

The coach finishes at Karavella Bus Station. That stop serves both directions of route 26: trips from Nicosia terminate here, and trips back to Nicosia start here.

From Karavella you are in town. For the harbour, Kato Paphos or Coral Bay, use OSYPA city buses from the same hub. The airport is a separate stop; see Paphos Airport to the city for the 612 and 613 routes that run there.

Journey time is about two hours end to end, depending on traffic and the day's timetable. Use the live tables and the trip planner rather than a single printed minute count.

Coming back to Nicosia

Same route number, opposite direction. Board again at Karavella Bus Station and ride to Solomos Square.

Sunday service is thinner than a weekday, and this corridor has fewer coaches than the Nicosia-Limassol line, so check the return time before you commit to a same-day trip.

Fares and how to pay

Intercity Buses (Nicosia-Paphos): €8.00 one way, or €15.00 return on this corridor. One-way paper ticket from the driver, or Motion e-wallet where accepted on this corridor. Return and period products at operator sales points.

This is a corridor Intercity ticket, the most expensive city-pair fare on the network because it is the longest leg. It is not a Paphos urban OSYPA single. For the wider island picture (urban districts, shuttles, passes), see Cyprus bus fares and the Motion card.
